The Epic Saga of Arn Magnusson Becomes the Most Expensive Production in the History of Swedish Filmmaking.
 Based on Jan Guillou’s successful novel trilogy, the Arn films are now being made. With a budget of about 35 million dollars, this will be the most expensive production in the history of Swedish filmmaking. The story presented in the novels was divided up into two movies and filming began in December 2006.
Arn is produced by the Swedish Film Industry in cooperation with the national television broadcasters in Sweden, Denmark and Finland, as well as with private broadcasters in Norway and Germany.
The first Arn movie premiered in cinemas throughout the Nordic countries in December 2007 and the second film in the autumn of 2008. In 2009 will international version of the movie be distributed to Europe and the Middle East. Later there will be a tv-series shown in several European countries.
